Biography: Ms. Stone developed and maintains a comprehensive workers' compensation and administrative law practice. She handles workers' compensation cases from the agency level up to the Texas Supreme Court when necessary. Her practice includes successful challenges to the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers' Compensation and its predecessor agency for exceeding their legislative authority in rule-making and the application of agency policy. She is also known for her expertise in complex medical issues arising in workers' compensation cases and in the medical fee and billing issues that arise in the regulatory environment. Ms. Stone is a frequently requested speaker and has taught employers, insurance carriers, physicians, attorneys, and agency employees a variety of topics related to workers' compensation, including an innovative course on ethical issues arising in the workers' compensation context. She is vice-chair of the Workers' Compensation Law Advisory Commission of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
